Phoebus Band, run by Mr. Matthew Caldwell (757-727-1016, mcaldwell@hampton.k12.va.us) is a year-round music based program for the students of Phoebus High school. The band includes the musicians, the flag team, the drill team, and the majorettes. The group enhances youth lives with rigor, focus, attention to detail and excellence, supporting their fellow Phoebus students, and the local community.

Buy concert uniforms for PHS students & a chair.

Presently students of PHS wear black bottoms and a white top for concert performances. At least, that is what is requested of them. In fact they wear whatever in their wardrobe that most closely fits the asked for clothing. The students will feel more part of the cohesive unit of band if they are wearing the correct attire. Moreover, at competitions and other performances, the response of the judges and attendees is palpable as they respond to the mishmash of the student's attire.

Phoebus High School Band is a school organization. It supports the students of Phoebus High School.

Students of PHS are likely to remain on the Peninsula as they age. The investment in these students increases their confidence, connects the with the greater community, and hopefully engenders in them a desire to be an active, invested adult in their community.

The Band director at PHS will order the needed uniforms on receipt of the money. The hope is to have the uniforms in time for the winter concert and assessments.

PHS Band is extremely grateful for the investments made in our students. Participating in Community Knights has allowed band parents and students to support the entire band in an extremely fruitful way. There has been an increased growth of confidence and pride in the band students in response to the Community Knights money invested in them and their program.
