| Description of Organization's Main Mission | St Kateri Mission Trips Ministries is to provide Youth the opportunity to visit other parts of the country to see and experience the needs of others through service during their week long work camps. They learn to not judge but open their eyes and hearts to willingly give themselves and their time to others. They learn not only new skills through their service projects, but they learn to open their eyes to our local community and give time to soup kitchens, thrift shops and shelters right here in Hampton Roads. |

| What is your involvement with Community Knights? | Let us know how you are Collaborating and sharing your gifts. |
| How are you collaborating with other Non-Profits and School Organizations in the Virginia Peninsula Community? | St. Kateri's Youth has for years helped with St. Pauls Episcopal Soup Kitchen in Newport News, The Parish Thrift Shop in Poquoson, and the Menchville House in Newport News. We are also supportive to Community Knights Bingo with a caller that does not charge for his calling, managing positions and most other positions. |
| How will the Project/Program use the requested grant funds to directly benefit the citizens of the Virginia Peninsula of Hampton Roads? | These funds help a number of our teens become aware and concern for the needy, elderly and marginalized of Hampton Roads. We have now seen a number of our young adults that have gone on these trips as teens and have come back to be adult leaders. |
| How will the Project/Program sustain or grow the community of the Virginia Peninsula of Hampton Roads? | By providing a chance to experience Catholic Heart Work Camp or another camp called "Just 5 Days," our teens see the needs of other communities and realize that our own community has these same needs. What could be better than raising community conscious teens by starting them on a road to service and helping them to develop into community-minded adults? |
| Please give a brief description of how the Project/Program will be planned, organized and executed? | We are now in the process of finding out who and how many of our youth can make one or two of three dates that the Youth Minister has chosen. On Sept. 15th we will secure two of the three dates that a majority of the teens can make. Deposits for the camp are due on this date. Just 5 Days planning will happen a little later in the year. Fund raising and trip planning begin once the Camps have been secured. |
| Please add any additional information you would like to share. | St Kateri Tekakwitha has been a strong supporter of Community Knights Bingo since it began. We have two Catholic Heart work Camps that will cost approximately $21,000. A newer service camp for younger youth called Just 5 Days will cost approximately $6000. At all of these camps, the kids and adults, help the elderly, and needy at homes, shelters, food pantries, daycare centers, churches and schools. They scrape, paint, straighten, clean, do yard work, build handicap ramps, fix windows, fences and doors, etc. Our group works with two to three hundred other campers that are there for the same experience. It is amazing how much work can be accomplished with that many campers working in one area. |
