Our Cemetery clean-up with The Friends of Barrett-Peak Heritage Foundation will begin on March 4, 2023, from 7:00 am to 11:00 am. Anyone is invited to come along and volunteer to help clear the two historically black cemeteries near the Courthouse and Behind Vanguard and the Bus station in downtown Hampton. Every other Saturday until December 9, 2023, the Do Gooders will continue to manicure the Bassette and Elmerton cemeteries, clear any debris, and clear the brush growing around the tombstones further behind the Bus Station next to the Elmerton cemetery.

The Do Gooders of Hampton Roads will be holding our next event on August 27, 2022, 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. This is our Shell Road Fest, where families can bring their students to pick up a free backpack filled with school supplies and grab a meal from our BBQ area in the back of the Shell Road Boys and Girls Club, located at 1815 Shell Road in Hampton. We also love to partner with community advocates, other nonprofits, medical clinics, hospitals, and other agencies who provide essential information on financial fitness, insurance availability, and health screenings. The community can meet the Hampton Police and Fire departments, and receive food nutrition education. Vendors are welcome to sell their goods at the fest as well. This event is open and free to the public!
