Jahiem’s internship at Bluebird Gap Farm leveraged his comfort with animals to help him learn workplace and personal skills. He told CK that he now has better tools to deal with inconsistency in day-to-day activities, and even mentored his skills trainer to help her learn how to deal with the feelings of being in mud.
Sharnae, Jahiem’s skills trainer, pointed out “It just took a simple support tool [visual aids] to let his brilliance shine!”
Jahiem’s mother stated that she is very grateful for everything CK has done, and she wants him to return for another internship with Community Knights. CK made her feel like Jahiem was safe.
