Ca
elyn’s internship at Cups and Claws Cat Cafe and Lounge in Newport News was the purr-fect opportunity to learn everything about animal care.
Cat puns aside, Caelyn adapted well to the environment. The owner of Cups & Claws, Kim, loves watching CK interns grow during their time at her business. Kim said Caelyn learned the differences between handling house cats and rescue cats – by taking her time and getting to know each cat’s personality and needs.
Anna, her skills trainer, noted that Caelyn has a deep curiosity about each cat, and that learning their individual needs enabled her to provide better care to the adoptable felines.
Caelyn stated she didn’t like some of the work, but it was important for the cats to have a clean, healthy place to live. She summed up her internship with one sentence – “All cats deserved to be loved.”
