The Phoebus High School Culinary Arts students are going out of this world as a dish they created as part of the HUNCH (High School Students with NASA to Create Hardware) Challenge in 2015 was headed for the International Space Station on April 8th.  Their Jamaican Rice and Beans with Coconut Milk dish won a place in an astronaut cookbook for preflight preparation, then cooked and processed for flight to the space station.

You can read more about this exciting event NASA’s Website.  Students in the Culinary Arts Program work in a commercial kitchen on site at Phoebus High School.  This innovative program allows students prepare for Culinary school after High School or to go directly into the field after graduation.  Phoebus Culinary Arts has just joined Community Knight’s GIFT (Grant Initiative Fundraising Team) Program and we are excited to be a part of this excellent program!
